Textbook Buyback Policies

The student WILL RECEIVE 50% OF THE ORIGINAL PURHCASE PRICE if the following stipulations are met:

1. The textbook adoption is received at the Bookstore at least one business day before the Buy Back process begins. This allows the Textbook Coordinator to enter the information into our electronic ordering system and generate a list for the wholesale company of choice to refer to during the buy back process.
2. The exact same textbook is adopted for class that was previously used. This means the exact same title and edition as before.
3. Textbooks being purchased for Gettysburg College does not exceed class enrollment.
4. Textbook must be in good condition.

If your textbook has not been adopted, the following takes place:

1. The textbook will be searched on a national basis for supply and demand.
2. The student is given the national wholesale price for any books not adopted by Gettysburg College.

** You must present your student identification card to participate in the Buy Back process.

** Cash will be given in every case during the Buy Back process.

** Anyone trying to sell back lost or stolen textbooks will be turned over to College Security.
